Few days back the news came about launching of PayPal service in Pakistan on a local blog. But the news proved to be rumor as PayPal officially denied their presence in Pakistan. Few days back a local Pakistani blog published the news of launching of PayPal services in Pakistan. Pakistanis are waiting for the online Service of PayPal for a long time but till date no online payment service officially exists in Pakistan.
PayPal have their services in almost 203 countries and about 30 countries enjoy full fledge services of PayPal which include pay-outs and pay-ins and that too with total ease. India is not among those 30 countries but is in the list of 203 countries which are officially being provided the online payment services. The discussion is going on about PayPal making available their services for Pakistan. Some argue that our market is still not up to the International standards and others argue that online shopping and transactions are very low in volume in Pakistan that is why Pakistan is not an attractive market for PayPal. Whereas advent of 3G and 4G Network may prove as an improving agent in terms of Business and Commerce.
PayPal an online payments system, commenced operations in 1998, the initial operations were more related to international money transfers. PayPal currently accommodates 157 million active users/accounts. PayPal facilitates Individual transactions along with Business transactions for which they charge some fee.
