Bol_TV_Logo_3DTest Transmission of Bol TV has been suspended on the directive of Federal Government. The Federal Information Minister in a letter written to Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) asked to stop the transmission of Bol TV until the investigation continues regarding the Scam of its parent company Axact. The government issued Section 5 directions under the PEMRA Ordinance 2002 which makes PEMRA bound to right away take action on the orders given by the Federal Government.

Bol TV started its test transmission a week back following telecast of few days the transmission has now been suspended by PEMRA on the orders of Information Ministry of the Federal Government. The Government ‘orders’ call for suspension of the transmission until the inquiry on Axact scam and its Directors continue who are already in the custody of Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).

While The Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) gave the Government a deadline of 48 hours (which is due to expire today) to restore the transmission of Bol TV or otherwise country wide protests will be launched. Meanwhile large number of journalists from different Channels gathered in front of Bol News Office and protested against the suspension of the test transmission of Bol TV by the Government.
