After restoring the writ of the authority for its recent actions, Punjab Food Authority has now decided to launch restaurant rating app. This app is under developed and will provide a unique experience to the residents of Punjab. The app is being developed by Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) for Punjab Food Authority. Due to this app, mobile phone users would be able to check the ratings of the restaurants to enjoy safe and healthy food.
“A comprehensive training was conducted for food safety officers pertaining to a new mobile application developed to facilitate restaurant inspection across Lahore. The application would enable food safety officers to grade all eateries according to standardized criteria.” Press release issued by Punjab Information Technology Board.
In the first phase, this unique app will provide ratings of Lahore restaurants only but will be gradually add other big cities as well. The officials of the Punjab Food Authority will assess the hygienic and quality conditions of every restaurant and create their ratings according to their findings. However, complaint forms may be also added in this app to receive complaints from the consumers and took actions against particular restaurants.
It is to be stated that during the recent months, Punjab Food Authority have sealed countless restaurants and bakeries, specially in Lahore for selling unhygienic and low quality food.
