KFC SealedPunjab Food Authority has sealed a branch of multinational fast food restaurant chain KFC, in Lahore. The Director Operations of Punjab Food Authority, Aysha Mumtaz had visited Thokar Niaz Baig branch of KFC, along with the team of Allama Iqbal Town, Lahore. The officials have checked the quality of food served by the multinational food chain and the cleaning system in its kitchen. The team of Punjab Food Authority and Allama Iqbal Town had found that the washroom was directly opening in the kitchen area and cleaning system was very bad in the premises of the restaurant.

Punjab Food Authority had conducted a raid on Monday along with the Allama Iqbal Town team, after receiving complaints regarding KFC. Officials have also found the rotten cabbage in the cold storage of the restaurant and bees were flying in the burger bun packets. The cleaning condition of both the kitchen and cold storage was very bad and hand sanitizer was not available within the premises of the restaurant during the inspection.


After assessing the condition of the restaurant, Punjab Food Authority had sealed the KFC branch for unidentified period. It is also expected that the heavy fine will also imposed on the restaurant for serving unhygienic food to the customers.


It is to be noted that Punjab Food Authority has been working brilliantly from the past few months and had sealed many popular restaurants for serving bad quality food.
