Habib Wali MohammadKarachi: Famous Ghazal singer Habib Wali Mohammad passed away at the age of 93 on Thursday as he was suffering from his sickness from the past few days in Los Angeles. Habib Wali Mohammad was born on 1921 in Rangoon as he belonged from a Memon family named as Tabani who has a large industrial business in Pakistan.

Legend singer Habib Wali Mohammad started his singing career in 1950 in Bombay as he learnt classical music from Ustad Latafath Husain in his teenage. He had also participated in several musical functions and he also won first prize in a Bombay music competition in 1941 with almost 1200 participants in which big name of singing Mukesh Chand Mathur was also included. His famous ghazal ‘Aaj Jaane Ki Zid Na Karo’ cannot be forgotten due to which he received enormous appreciation and fame as well as he had also sung two famous ghazals ‘Lagta Nahin Hai Jee Mera Ujrray Dayaar Mein’ and Yeh Na Thi Hamari Qismat’ by Bahadur Shah Zafar and Mirza Ghalib.

Late singer Habib Wali Mohammad recorded two songs Teray Zulm Ki Tujh Se Faryaad Hai’ and ‘Aaja Tujhe Ek Baar Mein Seene Se Laga Loun’ for the film Bindiya in 1955 which were his first songs in any film. In 1947, he completed his MBA from Syracuse University at New York.
