Ata ul Haq QasmiFamous columnist, poet, scholar and former ambassador of Thailand and Norway, Ata ul Haq Qasmi has become chairman of state-owned television channel PTV. According to the media reports, the summary of his appointment has been signed by the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. Summary of his appointment was sent to the PM House on 30th of October, 2015. Another renowned and experienced journalist Mohammad Malick is already performing his duties as MD PTV. Pakistan Media Reports have already revealed earlier that Ata ul Haq Qasmi is likely to become Chairman PTV.

Ata ul Haq Qasmi is widely known for his services to arts and literature, not only in Pakistan but in other countries as well. Despite of his services for arts and culture, Ata ul Haq Qasmi had also served as an Ambassador of Pakistan in Norway and Thailand, during 1997 to 1999. 72 year old Ata ul Haq Qasmi is also considered to be the closest friend of Mian Nawaz Sharif.

For his services to Pakistan in multiple fields, Ata ul Haq Qasmi had also received Sitara-e-Imtiaz and President’s Award for Pride of Performance. Earlier, Ata ul Haq Qasmi have performed his duties as chairman of Lahore Arts Council before his appointment.
