karachi_Press_ClubKarachi:  Democrats Panel has won all the seats of Karachi Press Club (KPC) in Election 2016. Polling for the annual elections 2016 was held on 26th of December 2015, which was started from 9:am and continued till 5:pm. 2 panels have contested the elections, namely The Democrats and Progressive panel. According to the final results announced by the Chief Election Commissioner Tauseef Ahmed Khan, Presidential candidate for The Democrats has won with 487 votes, while Nizamuddin of Progressive panel has got 231 votes, contesting for the same seat.

For the seat of Secretary Karachi Press Club, A.H Khanzada of The Democrats panel has won the seat by getting 538 votes, while his opponent Ashraf Khan of Progressive panel got 228 votes. The Democrats panel Vice President candidate Sajjad H. Abbasi won the seat by getting 456 votes, opponent candidate from Progressive panel Nadia Farooq got 289 votes. Rizwan Bhatti of The Democrats panel elected Joint Secretary KPC, by securing 500 votes. Hina Mahagul, Manzoor Chandio, Muhammad Ahmed, Muhammad Siddique Chaudhry, Nawab Qureshi, Shams Kerio and Tariq Abul Hassan elected on the seats of Governing Body by getting 411 votes.

It is to be noted that The Democrats panel has strong roots in the journalism circle and this group had also won all the seat in last year elections.
