One of the senior most journalists of Pakistani media industry Azhar Abbas is likely to join ARY News. According to the sources of media industry, Azhar Abbas will join ARY News as News Director in the next few days. The news just came after the joining of Kamran Khan in Dunya Media Group, as President of Dunya News Channel and Editor-in-Chief of Dunya Newspaper. The previous reports regarding Azhar Abbas were indicating that he may rejoin Geo News but the sources have confirmed that he is ready to join ARY News.
Previously, Azhar Abbas have resigned Bol News along with his other fellow journalists including Kamran Khan, Asma Shirazi, Iftikhar Ahmed, Nusrat Javed and Wajahat S. Khan. After the Axact scandal, dozens of media personalities including Azhar Abbas have disassociated themselves from its associated TV channel, Bol Network.
Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists had also warned all the TV channels against hiring of Azhar Abbas and Kamran Khan and extremely condemned their resignations from Bol Network.
It is to be noted that Azhar Abbas is among the most senior and experienced journalists of Pakistan and have around 25 years of experience of print and electronic media. He had also played his part to establish many news channels of Pakistan including Geo News and Dawn News.
