One of the most senior journalists of Pakistani media industry Azhar Abbas is likely to join Channel 24 within some days. The sources of media industry are claiming that the veteran journalist has finalized the deal with the owner of Channel 24 and he will likely to be given a prominent post in the channel. The sources have also claimed that the monthly salary package of Azhar Abbas would be around 7 million Pakistani Rupees in the Channel 24. The previous reports regarding Azhar Abbas were indicating that he may join ARY News as Director News
Previously, Azhar Abbas was associated with Bol News as President and CEO of the channel and have managed to gather the best team of journalists there. But in May 2015, he had resigned from the channel after Axact fake degree scandal along with other senior journalists including Kamran Khan, Asma Shirazi, Iftikhar Ahmed, Nusrat Javed and Wajahat S. Khan. However after their resignations, Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists warned all the channels not to hire Azhar Abbas and Kamran Khan because they leaved from Bol News without consulting other journalists.
Azhar Abbas is among the most senior and experienced journalists of Pakistan and have around 25 years of experience in the print and electronic media. He had also established many news channels of Pakistan including Geo News and Dawn News and is known for making structure of news channels in the media industry.
