One of the leading news channels of Pakistan Aaj News has launched its entertainment channel, named as Aaj Entertainment. This new channel has been launched on 14th December 2015 and it is the first entertainment channel of Aaj. Aaj Entertainment has been launched to provide some quality entertainment for the viewers in not only Pakistan but also in other countries as well. Like other entertainment channels of Pakistan, Aaj Entertainment is also airing Indian and Turkish content but main focus is on local dramas. However, some Bollywood movies have been also broadcasted by the channel in the starting transmission.
During the starting transmission of Aaj Entertainment, some local dramas starring famous Pakistani actors have been started by the channel. The presence of dozens of Pakistani entertainment channels out of which some are owned by leading media groups, will provide tough competition for Aaj Entertainment to survive. However if Aaj Entertainment got successful to provide quality entertainment, it would definitely attract the viewers. Aaj Entertainment has started drama serial Court Room, Mere Hamdam, Aaitbaar, Nayab and Main Kamili.
It is to be noted that Geo News, ARY News and Express News are already running entertainment channels in Pakistan and enjoying most of the viewership of entertainment channels.
