The upcoming thriller movie Dukhtar will be premiered internationally on 5th September 2014 from Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) as it has officially selected in the Discovery section of the TIFF. However, Dukhtar will release at all leading cinemas of Pakistan on September 18 as movie was set to release on 14th August previously.
According to the sources, 25 % of women filmmakers are selected in the Discovery section of TIFF this year although it the biggest achievement of Pakistani director Afia Nathaniel who has been privileged to this honour. In this regard, programmer for TIFF Jane Schoettle said that Afia Nathaniel’s Dukhtar deserves to be in the Discovery section of Tiff as Dukhtar revolves around captivating story which tends to capture audiences’ attention. Jane Schoettle further added that TIFF is set to show most appealing and contemporary stories from all around the globe and we are delighted to show 1st premier of Dukhtar in our Discovery section.
Meanwhile, Muhammad Khalid Ali the producer of Dukhtar also responded in this context and said that[alert style=”white”] it is a moment of honour and proud for the whole time as Dukhtar is the first movie of Pakistan which got an opportunity to be featured in the most popular film festival of the world.[/alert]
