Iftikhar Thakur is a popular actor of stage, theatre and television who is known for his entertaining characters. He belongs to Mian Chunnu, a city in Khanewal District in Punjab province of Pakistan. He is self-made artist and had repaired tyre punctures in Islamabad before entering showbiz industry in past. Iftikhar Thakur had performed in several comedy stage dramas in Lahore and got fame from his quality and entertaining work. He had appeared in many Urdu, Punjabi, Pothwari, Mirpuri and many other languages stage shows.
In 1993, he had done comparing in an event at Liaquat Bagh, Rawalpindi for the first time and had started his career properly as a stage actor in 2000. In the beginning of his showbiz career, Iftikhar Thakur had got popularity just after his few stage shows. Unique characters, funny gestures, quick response and making different funny faces during performance had made Iftikhar Thakur a popular comedian of Pakistan.
The most popular and widely appreciated character of Iftikhar Thakur was “Aftab” in “Miki Kharo England”, a tele-film in which he had performed a role of a Pakistani teenager who wants to marry a British girl to settle in England. Thakur had also proved himself as a director and his first drama was “Roti Khol Diyo”, which was the most famous drama of that year. His famous dialogue for which he is recognized among his fans is “Jhoot Bolda”.
He had performed with many famous comedians of Pakistan including Babbu Baraal, Sohail Ahmad, Tariq Teddy, Nasim Vicky, Amanat Chan, Hameed Babar and Shehzada Ghaffar Nasir Chinyoti.
