Sadiq FaqirRiyadh: Famous Sindhi singer Sadiq Faqir passed away after fatal injuries in a road accident in Saudi Arabia. Sadiq Faqir was in Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah along with his family and was travelling on a road Thursday evening when his car was crashed in an accident. Sadiq Faqir was taken to the hospital immediately after accident but not succumbed to his wounds and died. Family sources said that his wife, four children and cousins were injured in that accident and admitted in the hospital. The incident was took place near Maidan-e-Arafat while he was on the way to perform Umrah.

Renowned Sindhi artists expressed deep sorrow and regret on the death of Sadiq Faqir and called it an irreversible lost for Sindhi music. Sadiq Faqir was born in Mithi and did his masters from University of Sindh in Sindhi Literature. Sadiq won the hearts of Sindhi music lovers by his beautiful songs like “Ye Jo Halka Halka Suroor Hai”, Kaisarya Balam” and “Muhunje Thar jo haal je puchanden”. Sadiq also sung the poetry of great poets like Sachal Sarmast, Qalandar Lal Shahbaz and Shah Abdul Lateef Bhittai.

The Prime Minister of Pakistan also expressed his grief and sorrow on the death of Sadiq Faqir and prayed that may Almighty ALLAH rest his soul in peace.
