Jang Geo BoycottThe third largest political party of the country, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf ended the nine month boycott of Pakistan’s largest media group Jang and Geo. The decision was announced in a press release issued by secretary information of PTI, Shireen Mazari. It is stated in the press release that they had monitored the 3 weeks transmission of Geo Television and reporting of Jang Newspaper on request of group and found that the reporting was balanced. That is why they have decided to end the boycott of Jang and Geo which was started nine months ago by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.

“In the light of the above factors, it was decided in the last core committee to allow our selected spokespersons to begin appearing on Geo talk shows and give beepers to Geo on PTI positions on national issues/unfolding events,” stated in the press release issued by PTI. This decision was taken at the meeting of core committee of PTI, which was held on Monday, 14th February and also included the continuing Imran Khan’s statement of attacks on Geo.

This issue was started nine months ago before Islamabad sitting (Dharna) by PTI when Imran Khan claimed that the Jang/ Geo group is involved in the rigging of 2013 general elections and continuously opposing PTI and Imran Khan.
