Reporter of Neo TV, Zaman Mahsud has been killed in southern district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Tank. According to the media reports, Zaman Mahsud was coming from his home to Tank on motorcycle, when unidentified motorcyclists opened fired on him, on Tuesday morning. Zaman Mehsud got seriously injured due to this attack and he had taken to the District Hospital Dera Ismail Khan, but he didn’t survived and died in hospital. 35 year old Zaman Mahsud was associated with the journalism from the last 13 years. During this period, he had worked for several newspapers and television channels as a reporter.
According to the police, Zaman Mahsud had no personal enmity with anyone and report has been registered against unidentified persons. Zaman Mahsud has left a widow, two daughters and three sons behind. Zaman Mahsud was also associated with daily Ummat and Nai Baat newspapers. Different journalist unions have showed their deep concerns on the killing of Zaman Mahsud and asked the forces to arrest people involved in his killing. Human Rights Commission of Pakistan also condemned the killing of Zaman Mehsud and asked the government to arrest the killers.
It is to be noted that this incident took place just after a day when the world marked “UN day against impunity for crime targeting journalists”.
