Third death anniversary of famous Pakistani ghazal singer Mehdi Hassan is being observed today on Saturday, 13th June. In this regards, different programs will be held today in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad to pay tribute to the legend of Pakistan. Many showbiz celebrities and representatives of the society will participate in the events to remember him and his work for the showbiz industry. Many renowned ghazal singers and classical singers will also pay tribute to Mehdi Hassan by performing in the memorable reference.
Pakistan Television (PTV) will also telecast special program on 3rd death anniversary of Mehdi Hassan and Syed Amjad Hussain Shah is the producer of that program. In this program, comments of popular Indian singer Lata Mangeshkar, Ustad Raees Khan and many other renowned artists will be included. Songs and Ghazals of Mehdi Hassan will be also telecasted today from all the stations of PTV on internet.
Mehdi Hassan was born on 18 July 1927 in an Indian village Luna, Rajhistan into a traditional musician family. He had sung countless ghazals and songs which were not only highly appreciated in Pakistan but also admired millions of people in India and other parts of the world. He was honored with highest civil award Nishan-e-Imtiaz along with the other awards including Pride of Performance, Tamgha-e-Imtiaz, Hilal-e-Imtiaz and Nishan-e-Imtiaz.
The shining star of singing died on 13th June 2013, after 12 years of long illness but he will be still alive in the hearts of his fans.
