Legendary Poet Sarshar SiddiquiSarshar Siddiqui was known as an eminent and intellectual poet of Pakistan who identified for his unique style of poetry due to which his is considered among one of the best poets of Pakistan. Sarshar Siddiqui was born in 1926 in Kanpur city of India and completed his matriculation from Calculated and then passed his intermediate from a collage of Kanpur named as Haleem Muslim College.

Aulad Hussain was the father of Sarshar Siddiqui as his father was a hakim and worked as a teacher in Tibbiya College in Delhi. Sarshar Siddiqui was belonged from Moazzammabad in Unnao district, United Provinces. He has also worked in National Bank of Pakistan in 1955-1984 as he migrated to Pakistan in the year 1949. He was also known as a creative columnist of the Express and the Jang newspapers

Legend poet Sarshar Siddiqui penned his first ghazal in Nigar which was published in the year 1949 as his first book named as Irtiqa was also published in the year 1947. Then he published another book Pathar ki Lakeer in the year 1962, Abjad in 1983 Baynaam in 1983, and his last poetry book was Khizaan ki Aakhri Shaam which was published in 1988. Unfortunately, the great poet is no more among us as he died on 7th of September in Karachi due to lung cancer. Funeral prayers of him were performed at at Masjid Darul Khair, Gulistan-e-Johar. He left behind his wife and a son.
