The meeting of the board was held on this Tuesday, Chairman broadcast rights bidding committee Ehsan Mani along with other members attended the meeting. Geo super which was in the race to acquire the rights despite the efforts failed to get broadcasting rights.
Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced that PTV sports and Ten Sports were now authorized to broadcast any domestic match and other events till the year 2020. According to some sources PTV sports itself was not interested at all to let Geo Super win the rights to broadcast, they were willing to let Ten Sports acquire the rights instead.
Shaharyar Khan, Chairman PCB along with the Broadcasting rights announced that PCB will hold Pakistan Super league next year with the intention to promote the domestic cricket and Talent Hunt. He added that new cricket academies will be established in Rawalpindi and Faisalabad. The existing academies of Multan and Karachi whereas will be upgraded and steps will be taken to ensure that they are operational in the near future so that the regional players may fully benefit from this facility.
All the members of Board of Governors except Iqbal Qasim (former Cricketer) were present at this occasion.
