Lahore: Famous Punjabi film hero Sultan Rahi recalled on his eighteenth death anniversary on Thursday. The mythical actor Sultan Mohammad, generally known as Sultan Rahi, was born in 1938 in a Muslim family of Saharanpur, India. He started his film career in 1959 as an additional in the movie Baghi.
In 1975 he became an action icon for the aficionados of Punjabi films. He strove for 1 or 2 years in the early 1960s, playing just a few supporting roles.The turning point of his career nonetheless, came in 1972, when 3 of his films celebrated diamond festivals. In 1975 he became an action icon for the stalwarts of Punjabi films.
