One of the most popular chains of bakeries in Pakistan, Gourmet has purchased popular news channel of Pakistan, Jaag TV. According to the sources of Pakistan Media Updates, new news channel from the house of Gourmet will be launched in March 2016, from Lahore. The sources have confirmed that the deal of Jaag TV was finalized last month, in January 2016 and both the owner of the channel and Gourmet has successfully completed this transaction. From now, Jaag TV is owned by Gourmet Pakistan.

Jaag TV was owned by the owners of leading news channel of Pakistan, Samaa TV. The owner of Samaa TV had bought this news channel with the name CNBC Pakistan, which was changed to Jaag TV. The sources of Pakistani media industry have claimed that the management of Samaa TV have tried their best to boost the viewership of the channel and hired some popular journalists including Sana Mirza, but failed to increase its viewership.
It has not yet revealed by the new owner of Jaag TV that whether they will change the entire management of the channel or it will remain the same with only few changes.
