PIDLeading English language newspapers and fashion magazines of Pakistan are continuously publishing objectionable images. Newspapers and magazines including Dawn Newspaper, Daily Times and Mag The Weekly are regularly publishing vulgar and immoral images, which are not appropriate for the readers in Pakistan.

In Dawn Newspaper, mostly on international page which is published at page number 14, carries objectionable images of Hollywood actresses, women wearing bikini. These images are extremely vulgar that anyone cannot read newspaper along with the family, especially with children. Although Dawn Newspaper welcomes suggestions and complains from readers and it has also appointed Muhammad Ali Siddiqi as Dawn Reader’s Editor, but the management didn’t took notice of this serious matter.

Unfortunately, this practice is also done regularly by Daily Times and weekly Mag and both of them also contains pictures of models and actresses wearing vulgar dress. Many other popular English and Urdu language newspapers and magazines are doing same, which is a cheap practice. Rather than taking serious action against this vulgarity, Press Information Department (PID)  is not even taking notice and it seems that it doesn’t has any authority to prevent this.

People on social media have demanded Press Information Department to take notice, as PEMRA is nowadays continuously taking notices of irregularities and vulgarity on electronic media.
