Karachi: Current heatwave in many countries of the world has affected many people but beggars in the biggest city of Pakistan have found new way to avoid the intensity of summer. The beggars have tuned many ATM booths of the city as their camp because of air-conditioning system in the booths. According to the reports, beggars have started capturing the ATM booths of several areas of Karachi including Clifton, Defence, North Nazimabad, Gulshan, Gulistan e Jauhar, Tariq Road and PECHS. This situation has created many difficulties for the ATM users in the city and risk of looting has also increased.
Few days ago, a video had been released on social media in which man found a beggar sleeping inside the ATM booth at night, in defence. The beggar was telling the people who reached at booth to withdraw money, that ATM machine is out of order. The truth is that he wants to sleep in the cooling area of ATM booth without any problem. However, same kind of situation is also happened with many other users, at different times in various ATM booths.
ATM card users have demanded the bank officials and law enforcement agencies to look into this matter seriously to avoid any foreseen situation.
