Ata ul Haq Qasmi Likely to Become Chairman PTV

Ata ul Haq QasmiRenowned columnist, poet, scholar and former ambassador Ata ul Haq Qasmi likely to become Chairman PTV. According to the sources of Pakistani media industry, Ministry of Information and Broadcast has sent summary to appoint Ata ul Haq Qasmi as Chairman PTV. However final notification for his appointment will be issued after approval and signature of PM Pakistan Nawaz Sharif. The sources of media industry said that summary sent to PM House on 30th of October and it is possible that the notification will be issued in next week.

Ata ul Haq Qasmi is recognized for art and literature, not only in Pakistan but all around the world. 72 year old scholar had also served as Ambassador of Pakistan in Norway, in previous governments of Pakistan Muslim League (N). He is considered as close friend of Mian Nawaz Sharif. Circles of Ministry of Information and Broadcast have hoped that Ata ul Haq Qasmi will restore the original image of Pakistan Television with his leadership abilities, so that PTV could play a key role with its unique identity in the environment of competition.

It is to be noted that Ata ul Haq Qasmi is also working as honorary Chairman of Lahore Arts Council and have been given Hilal-e-Imtiaz, Sitara-i-Imtiaz and the Pride of Performance awards from Government of Pakistan.
