Lahore: Session court has issued arrest warrant against Geo and Jung Group’s owner Mir Shakil Ur Rehman and his son Mir Ibrahim. When the hearing was held against the transmissions of abusive programs at the session court, Mir Shakil Ur Rehman and other suspects did not appear at the court. At which court has issued no bail able arrest warrant against Mir Shakil Ur Rehman and his son Mir Ibrahim.
The session court has ordered SHO Killa Gujjar Singh police station to present Mir Shakil Ur Rehman and his son Mir Ibrahim in the next hearing as the next hearing will be held on June 25, 2014. It is to remember that blasphemous act has been done by the Geo transmission in the morning show “Utho Jago Pakistan” hosted by Shaista Lodhi where actress Veena Malik and her husband Asad Bashir Khattak also became the part of this blasphemous act. This transmission of morning show has hurt religious sentiments of many Muslims due to which FIR and Reports were registered by public for which court issued arrest warrants against the people who were involved in the morning show.
Mir Shakil Ur Rehman is the Chief Executive and Editor in Chief of Jang Group of Newspapers and the Chairman of Geo TV Network as he is also the founder and editor of the Jang newspaper.
