In Islamabad 30 media houses got panic button that will be helpful in case of emergency and will be activated in an emergency situation and inform quickly to rescue and law administrators. Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan had a meeting with higher management of media houses and made them aware about possible threats against media houses and journalists. Higher authorities from 30 different media houses participated in the meeting and were told to follow government developed SOPs and plant panic buttons to get security from terrorism.
Many representatives from their media houses were called at Rescue-15 headquarter and android software was given to them that will be used as a panic button. When it will be switched on an automatic SMS will be sent to related police officers, police stations and Rescue-15. In every media house two people are handed over with the panic buttons.
Initiatives are taken due to security threats on media houses. Panic button will generate an automatic SMS from media houses that will help police and Rescue-15 to take immediate action.
