jailedNeelam Ismail a local model from Peshawar, got arrested after the court rejected the application for pre-arrest bail. She was arrested by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) for sharing objectionable snapshots of her friend on Mobile Messaging App ‘Whatsapp’. She was in custody of FIA as further investigation continued against her.

Neelam’s Husband Mohsin Ali was already in central jail as his pre-arrest bail was already rejected by the local court. He was arrested as the SIM from which the snapshots were sent was issued and registered against his name. Neelam was later shifted to women’s police station as the interrogation further went ahead. FIA arrested the model Neelam and her husband as Neelam was accused of sharing private photos of her friend Constable Gul Meena, the later filed the First Information Report (FIR) accusing Neelam of violating her privacy.

Constable Meena filed the FIR against her friend Neelam on 26 March which was registered without any delay. After the registration of FIR Neelam submitted the application for obtaining a pre-arrest bail from the court which was later rejected. She was arrested on violation of sections 36 and 37 of the Electronic Transaction Act 2002, the act deals with violation of privacy of Information along with damage to Information Systems.
