Like the Indian channels came as foreign wave and injected its traditions and culture into our society after its dramas and film industry began to enjoy hegemony on our media industry, Turkish dramas have invaded our local channels. Urdu 1 TV is one of the Urdu language channels that began its transmission since last year. Alliance Media FZ-LLC Dubai owns the television network.
The channel’s headquarter is based in Karachi. It bears the slogan ‘Sirf entertainment’. National and international drama serials are aired by the channel. Foreign dramas in Turkish, Spanish and Croatian languages are dubbed in Urdu.
The Pakistani dramas include Bas Yun Hi, Jazeera, Bhabhi Sambhal Chabi, Coke Kahani, Sargoshi, and Chadar. The re-known Turkish dramas Ishq-e-Memnu, Feriha, Mera Sultan, Janay Mera Qasoor Kiya, Fatmagul-Akhir Mera Kasur Kia? are among the dramas aired on Urdu TV channel that have gained fame while to name the Indian dramas are Saath Nibhana Saathiya, Diya Aur Baati Hum, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai and many others.
