Islamabad: Direct-to-Home satellite television distribution system is going to be start in Pakistan soon by PEMRA as DTH is able to provide greater and better-quality coverage. According to the details, Pakistan Electronic Media Regularity Authority (PEMRA) spokesperson said that both services cable systems and DTH systems will be provided simultaneously to users.
Minister for Information Pervez Rashid said that DTH system obviously provides higher quality but it is also a matter of smuggling and illegal sale of DTH in Pakistan. He also told that smuggling of DTH equipment was the main reason for not launching this service in Pakistan and now PEMRA should be concerned about their responsibilities in this manner.
DTH is known as the best quality communication system and the public who love superior quality and graphics will surely adopt this service which will increase the market activities to a large extent and PEMRA would be able to earn money with proper taxing. The numbers of channels will be decided by PEMRA by considering the public interest and local demand. PEMRA will issue license of DTH to those corporations who will satisfy eligibility conditions and terms as well as process will be completed according with the policies of Federal Government.
