Geo NewsIslamabad: Defence Ministry is requesting to Supreme Court to extend ban on Geo news as Defense Ministry is claiming that Geo got less punishment through PEMRA (Pakistan Electronic Media Regularity Authority). According to the news, Attorney General Salman Aslam Butt will submit a petition today at Islamabad High Court to increase Geo ban.

According to the details, Defense Ministry is going to file this petition today at Islamabad High Court against Geo. Defense Ministry has taken a stand in their petition that PEMRA gave less punishment to Geo according to channel’s offense, therefore ban on Geo news should be extend. [alert style=”green”]It is to remember that today is the last of Geo ban as it is going to complete its ban; however Geo has not paid his penalty amount yet.[/alert]

Geo offenses cannot be forgotten as they have insult the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) Directorate by blaming it for the attack of Geo News anchor Hamid Mir as well as Geo is also responsible for several insulting and illegal acts. Due to which PEMRA took action against Geo TV and Jang Group in order to ban this controversial channel as suspension of Geo News transmission was demanded by many officials and public too.
