Actor Maqsood Hassan was known as the senior actor of Pakistan who received fame from Radio Pakistan Karachi Kids program. He had also given his voice to many drama serials from room no 9 of Radio. Hassan has spent almost 50 years in industry where he performed in many dramas, plays, films and radio as his work in plays “Bakra qiston per “ and ‘Hum log’ was highly appreciated.
Late actor Maqsood Hassan had worked in several plays with renowned playwright Khwaja Moinuddin (late) and also trained by Moinuddin’s organization. Hassan got an opportunity to work with several great actors such as Omar Sharif, Moin Akhtar and Mohammad Ali and his film with Mohammad Ali “Jaag utha insaan” is all time memorable for him and audiences too. His acting was also highly appreciated and praised in drama serial ‘Quddusi sahab ki bewa’ at ARY Digital.
Maqsod Hassan was the younger brother of famous Pakistani artist Munni Baji who deied in the year 2007 in Karachi. He got married six years ago as he had no child. Actor Maqsood Hassan died on 3rd September due to heart attack as he was 67 years old. His funeral prayers were performed at Ghazali Masjid near Hassan Square; he lived in Civic View apartment close to Hassan Square Gulshan-e-Iqbal.
