Pakistan to Launch Its First Asan Khidmat Center, Bringing 100+ Services Together
The federal government will inaugurate the Asan Khidmat Center in Islamabad in January 2026, with more than 60% of development work already completed, according to sources.
The initiative aims to transform public service delivery in Pakistan, following a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Azerbaijan to adopt its successful citizen-centric service model. The Ministry of IT and Telecom (MoITT) is leading the project as part of its digital governance and citizen facilitation agenda.
The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has been tasked with carrying out development, renovation, and furnishing work in Block-B of the designated building. The National Information Technology Board (NITB) is responsible for digitizing the official records of Pak-PWD to ensure modern record management and long-term preservation.
Funds for the project have already been released, and MoITT has directed CDA to speed up renovation efforts to meet the January 2026 launch deadline.
The new Asan Khidmat Center will serve as a one-stop platform offering more than 100 essential government services covering all stages of life, from birth to death. Services will be available from Islamabad Police, NADRA, CDA, DRAP, FBISE, NH&MP, Excise and Taxation, SNGPL, the Immigration and Passport Department, FBR, IESCO, and the Deputy Commissioner’s Office. MoITT has also instructed that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs services, including document attestation, be added to expand convenience for citizens.
The agreement to establish the center was signed in September with Azerbaijan’s State Agency for Public Services and Social Innovations. During his recent visit to Baku, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif toured Azerbaijan’s Asaan Khidmat Center and directed authorities to replicate a similar model in Islamabad to modernize service delivery standards.
Officials say the launch of the Asan Khidmat Markaz will mark the beginning of a new era in public service delivery. Supported by Azerbaijan’s expertise and driven by MoITT’s vision, the center will bring key government services under one roof, making them simpler, faster, and more transparent for citizens across the capital.
