Famous Journalist Omar R. Quraishi has been appointed as head of ARY News Digital team. He has been appointed to further enhance the digital content quality of the Channel. His specific job will be to improve online strength of the channel particularly on social media. ARY News is also planning to launch an e-paper because of high viewership and online business market.
Omar R. Quraishi has worked previously for Daily Dawn Newspaper in 1994 as sub-editor, then worked there as staff reporter in 1996 and became assistant editor in 2000. He joined The News in 2006 as editorial pages editor. He became Fellow for 2013 in Chevening South Asia Journalist Program. He was associated with The Express Tribune as Editorial Pages editor and now has joined ARY News digital team.
He studied at Columbia University in the city of New York, USA. He acquired his Bachelor’s degree in Economics and political science and studied MA in Department of South Asian Languages and Civilization at University of Chicago. He is expert in news writing, investigative reporting, editing, headline writing and others.
