medialogic logoSupreme Court of Pakistan stops Medialogic from issuing rankings of different channels in Pakistan while asking PEMRA to formulate a mechanism for fair ranking.

The case is being heard by a three member bench headed by Chief Justice Saqib Nisar which revolves around the non-issuance of ratings for Bol Media Group by the TV rating provider Medialogic.

The monopoly of Medialogic was also discussed in the hearing on which Chief Justice said that these private companies are earning money by manipulating rankings of channels.

Previously the court issued notice to CEO of Medialogic to appear in front of the court. The contempt notice was issued after group continued issuing notice despite the orders from Supreme Court.

Chief Justice said that despite the order ranking was issued for Bol Media Group.  CEO Salman apologized to the court and said compliance report has been submitted but the Chief Justice insisted that verdict will be given against the contempt of court.

After the orders of Supreme Court of Pakistan no ranking will be issued for TV channels until PEMRA suggests criteria for a fair ranking of all Pakistani Channels.
