Naeem_HashmiLegend of Pakistani Film Industry Naeem Hashmi’s 39th death anniversary is being observed today. His son Khawar Naeem Hashmi (working with Bol News) has organized Quran Khuwani today at his residence, House H1-513 Johar Town Lahore. Prayers will be made for the late Naeem Hashmi. Naeem Hashmi is considered to be the founders of Pakistani Film Industry. Late Naeem Hashmi was an actor, producer, director, poet and writer. He acted in more than 100 movies.

Naeem worked for the first time in an Indian Movie ‘Chandni Chowk’ in 1940. According to some people he was the poet of famous ever Naat ‘Shah-e-Madina (saw), Yasrab k Wali (saww)’. Some of his famous movies include Noor Jahan, Khatoon, Ilzam, Sarfarosh and Babul. After Pakistan came into being he performed in Lahore in a stage drama ‘Shaadi’. The first feature film he produced was a 60 minute short film ‘Inqalab-e-Kashmir’ in 1948 which was on the Indo Pak war over Kashmir, the film was banned just after its first screening in Lahore.

His films mostly covered social issues and national issues. He died in 1976 because of diabetes and high blood sugar level. Although he is not in this world any more but his famous writings and Naat which he wrote will live and will be recited forever.
