malala yousafzai filmMalala Yousafzai, a young Pakistani activist and the youngest Noble Prize winner in the world will be the theme of a new biopic film ‘Gul Makai’.

The film is directed by Indian filmmaker Amjad Khan who shot the film in Mumbai, Bhuj and Indian Occupied Kashmir. Reem Shaikh plays the role of Malala Yousafzai, the film also stars Divya Dutta, Mukesh Rishi, Ajaz Khan and Abhimanyu Singh.

The story of the movie revolves around the life of Malala Yousafzai, who wrote letters to BBC as Gul Makai when Taliban took over the peaceful valley of Swat. She advocated on the importance of education and wrote against the rule of Taliban.


It is said that this was the reason she was shot by Pakistani Taliban. Severely injured Malala survived the attack after she was rushed outside the country and treated in UK. Currently she is studying in Oxford University with the aim that ‘One child, one teacher, one book & one pen can change the world’.

She also co-authored her biography ‘I am Malala’ which was an international best seller. In 2013 she founded ‘Malala Fund’ to promote girls education worldwide.
