Target KillingJournalists who play a vital role in media industry are killing severely in Pakistan as list of killed journalists is increasing day by day. Pakistani media has deprived from 7 journalists up till now in the year 2014 who have killed by some target killers this year which consider as a big loss of media as these journalists were included in the list of talented journalists of Pakistan.

The 7 Pakistani journalists who have lost their lives in this current year are Shan Dhar (Abb Takk TV), Muhammad Afzal Khawaja (Reporter Balochistan Times and Zamana Quetta), Ijaz Mengal (Daily Intekhab), Ibarar Tanoli (Secretary General Mansehra Press Club), Shahzad Iqbal (Samaa TV), Irshad Mastoi (Online News agency & ARY News channel) and Abdur Rasool (Online News agency). These 7 journalists have murdered for no reason as it is the height of target killing in Pakistan but no action has been taken in this regard yet.

Journalist Shan Dhar who belonged from Larkana shot in neck by unknown gunmen, Muhammad Afzal Khawaja killed by two unknown men at Baluchistan, Ijaz Mengal also became victim of target killing in Baluchistan, armed men opened fire on Ibarar Tanoli while travelling with his family at Mamsehra. Smilarly Shahzad Iqbal took his last breath in in Mianwali where he was murdered by unidentified gunmen, Irshad Mastoi recently killed in in Quetta where he was shot dead in his office by target killers and Abdur Rasool also lost his life on the same day in Quetta by two gunmen.

However, Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) condemned the murders of these journalists while demanding speedy investigation and arrest of their target killers.
