Islamabad: Senior reporter Amirzada Wasal who is a member of Jamrud Press Club have released from Godar area after getting kidnapped at gunpoint in Jamrud town at Khyber tribal region. According to the sources, senior journalist Amirzada Wasal was coming to his home after job at his vehicle on Friday night where he got abducted with his neighbor at gunpoint near Kadaykhel Khor area.
With respect to the further details, kidnappers fired on the vehicle of Amirzada Wasal in order to stop him as no one got injured due to fired shots. Gul Syed, the neighbor of Amirzada Wasal released earlier on Saturday whereas Amirzada Wasal got free after some hours on the same day. The reason of kidnapping of senior reporter is not revealed yet but as reporter Amirzada Wasal and his neighbor did not become the victim of kidnappers’ torture.
It is worth mentioning that kidnapping and killing of reporters in tribal areas of Pakistan is not new as lots of kidnapping and killing news of reporters has come into view as Pakistan has become dangerous country for journalists. Journalist community needs security from the government in this regard so that journalists who play vital role in media cannot become prey of such incidents.
