Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority has issued notices to leading media groups of Pakistan, Geo Television Network and ARY News. According to the sources of Pakistan Media Updates, the notices have been issued to both the groups for broadcasting immoral and unethical remarks on Geo Kahani and ARY News. PEMRA stated in its notices that both the channels have violated the rules and regulations of the authority. According to the sources of PEMRA, this action has been taken after receiving many complaints from the viewers, claimed that the content was so disturbing.
Geo Television Network has received show cause notice on behalf of Geo Kahani, on which famous religious scholar and former president of Geo TV Dr. Aamir Liaquat had given remarks with unethical works. The programs was broadcasted on 11.12.15 on Geo Kahani and this violation was done while he was repeating very disturbing words used by PTI supporters on social media for his late mother.
On the other end, ARY News has received show cause notice on behalf of program Sawal Yeh Hai, in which defence analyst Zaid Hamid participated as a guest on 12.12.15. While telling the whole story of his imprisonment in Saudi Arabia, Zaid Hamid used some indecent and harsh words for proclaimed RAW agents in Pakistan.
It is to be noted that PEMRA is active nowadays and before this, it had also issued show cause notice to Royal TV.
