Federal Investigative Agency (FIA) has arrested Twitter activist and PTI worker Qazi Jalal from Peshawar. According to the reports of Pakistani media, Qazi Jalal has been arrested for his inappropriate tweets against the judiciary. FIA has also confirmed on Wednesday that Qazi Jalal has been arrested under Pakistan Electronic Transaction Ordinance 2002, and he is under the custody of FIA from the last two days. In his Twitter profile, Qazi Jalal has mentioned that he is Hafiz e Quran and social media activist. He has also mentioned in his Twitter profile about his affiliation with Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI), working at Insaf Radio.
According to FIA sources of Peshawar, action against teenager Qazi Jalal has been taken on a complaint registered by an unknown Pakistani citizens, in which charges of creating negative propaganda against the judiciary. The sources of FIA has also said that accused teenager had been criticizing decisions of Judiciary from a long time.
It is to be noted that PTI workers and leaders have also badly criticized the judiciary after General Elections 2013 and have also raised questions on the role of judiciary in elections. It is an alarming situation for all those social media activists who normally abused different state institutions in their tweets or posts.
