Despite of many advantages of media, it has some very dangerous disadvantages as well.

The main disadvantage of media is that from the past 15 years, international media is continuously alarming the people from different threats. Every year, they bring new threat which causes uncertainty and panic in the whole world.

Below are the threats alarms which have been given by the international media:

Y2K

Y2K problem, which is also known as Millennium Bug was a problem for both the digital and non-digital data storage situations and documentations. International media raised this issue as the biggest problem in the year 2000.

Anthrax

In 2001, international media raised the issue of acute disease called as “Anthrax”, and shown that the disease will kill everybody in the entire world.

West Nile Virus

In 2002, international media continuously spread the news on West Nile virus and created alarming situation around the world.

Weapons of Mass Destruction

In 2003, international media extremely shouted on weapons of mass destruction issue, which lead US to invade Iraq but after fighting for several years, not even a single such weapon was found.

International media had raised the story of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) in 2004, which had created panic around the globe.

Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, which is also known as ObamaCare was a bill signed by the US President Obama in 2011, for healthcare system. The issue had been widely discussed on international media, which had created alarming threat.

A conspiracy theory was raised by international media which stated that the world is going to end on 31st December 2012. This theory was presented in a manner which had created panic and threat around the world.

In 2013, North Korea threatened United States and the issue had been widely discussed on international media.

During the year 2014, international media raised the issue of Ebola virus diseases in a manner that people have thought that this virus will kill them all.

In 2015, the top story of international media was about Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIS), due to which a war was started in many countries and continued till now.
