Senior sub editor of daily Jang Newspaper Saleem Basit passes away after short illness. According to the reports of Jang Newspaper, senior journalist Saleem Basit had been admitted to local hospital for heart surgery but he did not survived due to illness and died. He had been associated with daily Jang Newspaper from a very long time and was famous for his hardworking journalist in the journalism field. He had served as an in-charge of several pages of newspaper and also served newspaper as a showbiz reporter and editor of entertainment page. He had been serving as sub editor and translator in Magazine section of Jang Newspaper from a long time.
Saleem Basit was known for his social serving and kindness not only in his friends circle but also in the journalism circle. At his death, journalists belonging to print and electronic media, friends and Jang Union of Publications have showed their grief and sorrow and condole with his family. Namaz e Janaza of late Saleem Basit was held on 12th of October 2015, after Zohar Prayer at Jamia Masjid Gulzaar e Ambiya, Nishtar Road, Karachi. He had buried in Defence graveyard.
MQM chief Altaf Hussain has also expressed his grief and sorrow on death of Saleem Basit and showed his sympathies with his family. He also prayed Almighty Allah to bless the departed soul.
