Aslam AzharIslamabad: Founding member of Pakistan Television (PTV), Aslam Azhar passed away at the age of 85 years, in Islamabad. On 26th November 1964, 30 member team which had started test transmission of PTV in Radio Pakistan Lahore in tent, the leader of that production team was Aslam Azhar. After that, he had become first managing director of Pakistan Television. He had also served as head of television academy and just after the opening of Karachi Television Station in 1967, he had given the responsibilities of General Manager. He had appointed as Managing Director of Pakistan Television Corporation in 1972.

Aslam Azhar had also served as head of State Film Authority, Radio Pakistan and Chairman PTV. He was considered as the most dedicated and hardworking executive of Pakistan Television. Being a responsible person, Aslam Azhar had always encouraged youth, because he actually knows the importance of talent in the industry. Despite of his executive and management capabilities, Aslam Azhar was also experienced broadcaster and the magic of his voice was actually his identity. He had not only brought many unique ideas on the television but had also implemented those for the betterment.

Aslam Azhar had also awarded Sitara e Pakistan and Tamgha e Husn e Karkardagi, in recognition of his services for Pakistan Television.
